this activity is a combination of "member spotlight" and the old vh1 show "best week ever". the idea is that we don't want to highlight only one member's achievements or activities, nor do we want to flood the friends page with promotion after promotion. our solution is our "best month ever" blog. members can submit their achievements, promote their work, or their own personal news to be displayed in the "best month ever" post that happens at the beginning of each month to commemorate all the previous month's accomplishments. members can submit their own work or they can submit work on behalf of a friend as long as that friend is in the community.

given the popularity of the first round of the emoji game, we've decided to extend the game indefinitely. we're not going forewarn you when the posts are happening, but we decided to make it into a bit of a challenge both against your competitors and yourself. we intend to post these somewhat frequently.
here's how it works: each post will contain a list of potential "emoji codes". they could be movie titles, book titles, song lyrics, movie plots, celebrities, etc. for each emoji code you guess correctly, you get 1 point. simple, right?

50 points ➡ You will get a special graphic to show what you accomplished to adorn your journal. 100 points ➡ You will earn 1 rename token/$5 ij coupon of your choice. 200 points ➡ You will get a cute, magazine-esque spotlight article/post featuring you posted in , complete with an dedicated ode to your character.
5 consecutive perfect scores ➡ special graphic. 10 consecutive perfect scores ➡ 1 rename token/$5 ij coupon.

SCRABBLE SHOWDOWN
BASICS:
★ THIS IS A SINGLE ROUND ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT -- MEANING THAT THE FIRST TIME YOU LOSE, YOU'RE OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT.
★ CONTESTANTS HAVE BEEN PAIRED WITH AN OPPONENT FOR THE FIRST ROUND. PLAYERS HAVE ONE WEEK TO REACH OUT TO THEIR OPPONENT AND PLAY AT LEAST ONE GAME OF SCRABBLE. (NOTE: IF YOU AND YOUR PARTNER MUTUALLY AGREE TO BEST 2 OUT OF 3, ETC. PRIOR TO THE FIRST GAME, THAT IS ALSO ALLOWED, AS LONG AS BOTH PLAYERS AGREE TO THE TERMS PRIOR TO THE FIRST GAME)
★ THE WINNER FROM EACH ROUND IS RESPONSIBILE FOR COMMENTING THIS POST WITH THE RESULTS BY 5PM EACH SATURDAY SO THE TOURNAMENT BRACKETS CAN BE UPDATED.
★ THE NEW OPPONENTS WILL THEN HAVE ANOTHER WEEK TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS.
★ THE TOURNAMENT WILL LAST OVER THE COURSE OF 4 WEEKS. AT THE END, WE WILL CROWN A SCRABBLE CHAMPION FOR THE COMMUNITY.
WHERE TO PLAY: WE ARE GOING TO LEAVE THIS UP TO YOU AND YOUR GAME PARTNER TO MUTALLY AGREE ON THE LOCATION FOR THE GAME. HERE ARE A FEW SUGGESTIONS:
this game is a combination of "buddy pairings" and the typical "q & a" with a little twist. we have a list of survey questions HERE. you will be paired with a buddy and ask them any five questions from the list. then you have the option of POSTING your q & a session in your journal.
rules: you must sign up for this activity by the date on the calendar to be included in each round. you may do an "all inclusive" sign up if you want to participate in the majority of them and let us know on the weeks when you can't participate instead. sign up post is HERE. we will post the buddy pairings on the friends page.
after you are assigned a buddy, you will have two weeks to ask them each five questions from this survey of questions. please try to vary up the questions. if you want to get super fancy and keep track of the questions you've been asked so you can tell your buddy when they've repeated a question a prior buddy has asked, we do encourage this as well!
once you've asked your buddy your five questions and they've asked you theirs, you have a few options:
1. do absolutely nothing with this information. don't share it, don't talk about to this buddy again, avoid eye contact at all costs, leave the chat IMMEDIATELY when this person says something.
2. you can share this info with the blast chat (assuming your buddy is okay with that) so that others may get to know this individual as well.
3. make a post/entry at your creative leisure with this information so that we can all get to see and learn this information.
we're going to try to do this twice a month because we feel like the actual question portion shouldn't take you very long at all. we hope you enjoy this!

CLUE
BASICS:
have you ever thought to yourself "man, i wish there was a way to play clue online"? well guess what, so has our member hailee! so what she has done is put together a way for our members to play clue online in a chatroom setting. see the rules below:
🔎 on the night of the game, your name will go into a randomizer that will decide the order the players will go in. there will be one host who orchestrates the evening.
🔎 you will be assigned different cards that will feature a weapon, a place, and a person by the game's host. depending on how these are scrambled, you may end up with different versions of these cards. you may get two people and no places or one weapon and two people, etc, etc. just like in the real game if clue.
🔎 you will receive a "scorecard" that lists all of the possible combinations that will allow you to mark off your findings as we go.
🔎 when it is your turn to go, you will be required to say some form of this: "#person did it in the #place with the #weapon!"
🔎 after your guess, the host will message you to let you know if ONE of your THREE guesses is a possible answer or not. if you guess and the host does not have any of the cards you will know that you've figured out the killer, the weapon, and where the murder took place.
🔎 sporadically the host will give someone the chance to get a "bonus" round in which the host will give them the option to ask anyone to tell a card to the whole chat, in private, or even allow them to directly ask me whether or not one of their guesses is the possible correct weapon, place, or person.
